What Is the Closed on Sunday AI Trend? The Meme Explained

Closed on Sunday is a choir clip. One lead singer stands in the middle and a ring of singers stands around, all in the same shot. "Closed on Sunday AI" means the version where an AI video model builds that scene from your photos. It is a 14-second, 16:9 widescreen clip with no sound.

Where It Came From

We can't confirm where the Closed on Sunday meme began, and we don't say who is in the original video. The name is the title people use for the trend, and we use it only to point at the format. What we can describe is the shape: a lead in the center, a choir in a ring, everyone together. That shape is easy to understand in one second, which is a big part of why it travels.

How People Play It

The appeal is the picture. The lead is clearly the star, and the choir gives the scene a big, shared feeling. People like to picture themselves at the center, or to put a friend there as a joke or a gift.

Some people film their own group in the same layout. Others make an AI version so nobody has to rehearse, gather a crowd or book a stage. With one face used for the whole choir, the result is funny rather than realistic, and that is how most people share it.

AI Version, Filter and Face Swap

These are three different things.

• A filter adds an effect to a video you filmed yourself.
• A face swap puts a face into someone else's footage. Put Me In does not offer this.
• An AI version like ours makes a new clip from one or two photos. The first photo is the lead singer. The second photo is optional, and its face is used for every member of the choir. Without it, the choir stays as the scene has it.

The model follows the scene and animates the people in your photos. Faces at the back and the edges are small in the frame, so they can come out less sharp than the lead. Every video is labeled AI generated, and the file says so too.

Is It Connected to the Original?

No. Put Me In is an independent tool with no connection to the people, the song or the video this trend comes from. "Closed on Sunday" is used only to name the trend. Photos of public figures or anyone under 18 are not allowed, so use yourself or friends who agreed to be in it.
